Thorne Melaton-5

Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally by the pineal gland in the brain, and its primary role is to regulate the sleep-wake cycle. In the evening and during nighttime darkness, melatonin levels rise, signaling to the body that it's time to sleep. Melatonin binds to specific receptors in the brain, mainly in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the hypothalamus, and other regions involved in sleep regulation.
This interaction helps to decrease alertness, promote relaxation, and synchronize the body's internal clock to the natural day-night cycle, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. As a result, melatonin supplements are commonly used to alleviate sleep disturbances and jet lag.
